About a year after the market launch of the MP4-12C, McLaren has announced a new package of enhancements for its supercar headlined by a 25hp increase in power from the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8.

Beginning with the powertrain improvements, a reprogrammed ECU lifts output from 592hp (600PS) to 616hp (625PS), while modifications were also made to the 7-Speed SSG transmission, which result in crisper throttle response and improved clutch control for gear changes that are both faster and smoother, according to the company.

2013 McLaren MP4-12C Review
While the 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint time remains the same at 3.1 seconds, the 0-200km/h (124mph) and 0-300km/h (186mph) times have been cut by 0.1 seconds to 8.8 seconds, and 1 second to 26.5 seconds, respectively. In addition, the 2013MY MP4-12C completes the quarter mile 0.1 seconds faster at 10.6 seconds with an exit speed of 219km/h (136mph). Top speed is lifted by 3km/h (2mph) to 333km/h (207mph).
McLaren says that CO2 emissions remain unchanged at 279 g/km, as does the MP4-12C's fuel economy at 24.2 mpg UK (11.7 l/100km) in the EU driving cycle.
The 2013 model also gets an updated version of the Intake Sound Generator (ISG) system, which controls the amount of engine intake sound heard in the cabin. The improved system is now programmable across three levels in all three Powertrain modes (Normal, Sport and Track).
There are many other upgrades including a new door entry system that replaces the touch sensor system with a small button and a revised Climate Control System.
New options for the 2013MY include as fresh assortment of colors, new alloy wheel designs, a special interior trim package and a vehicle lift system that permits the vehicle to be raised by up to 40mm at the front and 25mm at the rear, and may remain in position at up to 37mph (60kph).
The only styling change is a revised McLaren badge.
